My Mum’s recipe
550mlwater200gsugar1½cinnamon sticks3cloves1inSliced root ginger1Nutmeg1½bottles red wine100mlGinger wine1orange, sliced
Simmer syrup ingredients together for 20 mins.
Leave to cool then strain.
In pan gently heat red wine, ginger wine, orange slices and syrup.
Do not allow to boil.
